Calm Tummy

Even raw fed dogs can get an occasional upset stomach, here it’s usually due to nibbling on weeds or grass in the yard. When it happens I make a batch of what I call Calm Tummy and that’s their meal for the day.

Ingredients:

1 cup boiled white rice
1/4-1/2 cup boneless chicken
1 15 oz can 100% pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)

Most folks boil the chicken with the rice. I’ve done both raw and cooked; with the latter I’m just very, very careful to make sure there are absolutely no bones or bone pieces in the chicken.

This makes enough for all three dogs. Once the rice is cooled I mix everything together, each serving is topped with 1 tsp of Perfect Form, which could also be mixed in for picky eaters.

The only downside to this is that it’s not a fast prep meal, I cook the rice for 15 minutes and it takes a while to cool. My dogs definitely enjoy it though!

Disclaimer: I am not a vet, vet tech, pet nutritionist, etc. This is what I’ve found works for my dogs after a lot of experimentation!
