Regular readers/followers might remember that Teddy had knee surgery last September. He’s always had a wonky, sort of wobbly walk but it’s been worse off & on the past few weeks so we went to the vet today. We knew the chances of recurrence were rather high after an ACL repair but didn’t expect it this soon, surgery on his right leg scheduled for Friday afternoon 😦
The floor of the playhouse is the same material as the sides and top which makes it somewhat difficult to clean. The vacuum tries to suck the material in so I got to the point where I’d just wrestle the whole house outside and try to shake it clean.
I researched round rugs as an option but couldn’t find anything simple and relatively inexpensive. Thanks to a few Facebook friends though we now have a solution!
The K&H Self-Warming Cuddle Ball Dog Bed happened to be on clearance from Sierra Trading Post, marked down from $70 to $31 for the 48″ large. After measuring the floor I thought that might be a bit too large but ordering smaller would result in a gap between the bed and walls where dirt would accumulate.
It arrived less than a week after ordering and it’s definitely a big bed but I’m so happy with it: fits perfectly, the colors are nice, and it fluffs right back after the dogs have been laying on it. They were a little hesitant at first because of its height but quickly made the adjustment for getting in & out of the house. These are all pics from the day it arrived:
This is kind of a follow-up post to my Maltipaws review. I really do love these collars 💕
It’s been a while since my last aquarium update so after some major maintenance here are some updated pics.
A few changes in the 16g but nothing major. The pennywort in the new(er) Spec just wouldn’t stay rooted so it’s now a floater in the big tank. The T5 bulb burned out. I dug a Finnex Stingray LED out of the basement and am using that instead. The tank is brighter and I like the colors, just not very happy with the look of the fixture and the original plastic hood. Another future project 🙄 With this particular tank I have the light on a timer which I’ve had to adjust due to both the longer days and the fact that there was a bit of an algae bloom. Still planning to add more neons when the weather is consistently warmer.
The new(er) Spec without the pennywort, I also played around a bit with the rocks and wood. Nice growth on the sword.
The original Spec, which is on my desk. Not easy to see in the pic but the dwarf sag on the left has gone crazy, lots and lots of runners! I’ll eventually remove the moss balls, trim some of the runners, and replant them on the right.
